COURSE: Out & back, 100 yards of pavement, the rest
is ranch roads, powerline and only a bit of technical trail.
ELEVATION GAIN: 8543 feet
Out and back course with an extension loop in the middle only on way in,
not on return.
There are 10 water stations, one added at final 2.4 miles from finish
(this was not in the 2004 Run, there were 9). The course has 6
sports
drink stations and 6 food stations.
The course IS well marked with orange ribbon and paper pie-plate
intersections. The two major intersections have people stationed
there.
25 km Kruncher out & back is 2,421 feet of climb...( As verified by OKANAGAN GPS) and it has been decided to allow 5 hours to finish the 25 km.
RACE RULES:
1. NO PETS ANYWHERE ON THE COURSE AND AT
AID STATIONS.
2. PARKING:
Park at Masons...the trailer on corner
property at Daly road and walk to Daly station 50 yards.
3. NO PERSONS (crews) on the course except RUNNERS and S.A.R. and
volunteers. This is the instruction from property owners and
insurance
carrier.
4. Mandatory ONE bottle carry up to a 25 degree day. IF
WARMER then carry two bottles. Suggest two bottles at any rate, a
lot of runners did that
in 2004 and were happy they did.
5. No switching events, before or during the
race. You must run the distance
you entered or it is a DNF.
These rules have to be followed NOW while we have less runners.
Don't ruin it for your runner!!

We are using this area with the express permission of local ranchers. These men have cattle grazing in a lot
of that area. Sometimes when I run up there I see hardly any cows. At other times quite a few in sections.
The gates will be manned and closed where they are required to be. Stay
on the COURSE, it will be RIBBONED (ORANGE) and PAPER PIE PLATES at junctions
(only 4 junctions)...

It is situated in the beautiful Similkameen valley ( you do not have
to learn how to pronounce this the first trip ),30 miles
SW of Penticton ( home of Ironman Canada-or conversely Penticton is
30 miles from Keremeos , Running Capital of Canada )

TIME LIMIT: 8 hours 45 minutes (8 AM - 4:45 PM, no exceptions)
If you are not trained to do 50 km enter the 25 km,
that is why we have added it. The 25 km has a five hour
time limit, and 2421 feet of climb. This is
verified
by Ron Sherk of Okanagan GPS.
All 25 Km entrants who finish within the time limit
will receive a water bottle, t-shirt and meal.
WASHROOMS: Start/Finish
AWARDS: Draw prizes, first man, first woman overall.
Water bottle and t-shirt to all finishers.

LIMIT: 100 runners
POST RACE: Post race meal at Finish Area.
NO REFUND POLICY - In the case of a major forest fire, the race
will be re-routed, perhaps re-dated and will proceed.
MASSAGE: Bodywork services for the event will be provided
by Wayne Still, a graduate of the Guild for Structural Integration (www.rolfguild.org).
Wayne has experience working with post event athletes and has developed
methods specific to their needs. Payment for his work at the event is by
donation. More extensive work before or after the event can be arranged

Kruncher: from the Verb - "To Krunch" - I, He, We, They got KRUNCHED.
Positive: I am gonna KRUNCH you BUDDY!!
Negative: Darn, I'm getting KRUNCHED again!!
Train so that you are the KRUNCHER and not the KRUNCHEE.
Note: Would you like to train on the course? Moe is always willing to
show entrants the race course months in advance, as time allows.
We have Finisher Medals left over from year one (2004) when
the Kruncher was a 50 Km race "only" so the first 48 finishers in the 50
km distance will also receive a medal.
